All submitted manuscripts first undergo an initial editorial check, which is normally completed within 7 days of submission. During this stage, the editorial office reviews the manuscript for completeness, relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, basic formatting, ethical declarations, and suitability for peer review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial check are sent for external peer review. The journal requires a minimum of two independent reviewers for each manuscript considered for peer review.
The peer-review process is normally completed within 3 months, depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, revision requirements, and editorial assessment. Authors are informed of the editorial decision as soon as the review process has been completed.
